Celine Dion Gives Tear-filled Performance in Song Dedicated to Late Husband

Celine Dion appeared on the telethon 'Stand Up to Cancer' last week and gave an emotional performance. After losing loved ones to cancer, the moving song brought Dion to tears and the audience to their feet.

Dion performed the single that was sent to her by pop star Pink. Entitled 'Recovering,' the song is a heart-wrenching story of a journey to find oneself again after suffering from grief.

The song was dedicated to Dion's husband, Rene Angelil, who died of throat cancer earlier this year. Days after the death of her husband, Dion's brother Daniel died of cancer. In 2003, Dion's father died of cancer.

“I miss René every day and the loss will now be a part of my life,” she said after being introduced. As she sang, images of her husband, brother and father appeared on a screen behind her. When her song was finished, she turned to blow a kiss to the faces of the three men.

The audience leapt to their feet for a standing ovation, as Dion was visibly shaken and fought back the tears.
