Woman Cleans Trump’s Walk Of Fame Star, Receives Huge Backlash Online

MaKenna Greenwald was strolling down the Hollywood Walk of Fame when she saw something that didn’t look right. She would take the time to make it right. As the Washington Examiner explains, she wasn’t expecting what would happen next.

McKenna came across President Donald Trump’s star, and she noticed that it had been defaced with graffiti and whatnot. She decided to clean it up, and she posted what she accomplished on social media.

“Stopped to clean @realDonaldTrump Hollywood Star. Nothing but respect for MY President. #RaisedRight,” she wrote.

“My friends and I were walking down the Hollywood Boulevard as tourists basically, and as we walked by and saw it I just stopped and thought that I should clean it up," she added during an interview. "I was surprised that somebody hadn't done it before, but I guess that this happens a lot."

As you would expect, that inspired all kinds of responses. Before you knew it, users were posing pics along the walk of fame and sharing away.

“dropped off a big salad at Julia louis dreyfus hollywood star. Nothing but respect for MY president,” shared one user.

“i picked up the trash around this bc i have nothing but respect for MY president,” shared another user, who photographed herself by the star for Shrek.

“stopped to clean @DannyDeVito Hollywood star. nothing but respect for MY president,” added another user.

“stopped by to clean @carrieffisher 's star, nothing but respect for MY president,” chimed in another.

And so on. It appears as if the walk of fame needs a whole lot of tidying up, but that’s another story for another day. As for Greenwald, she was pretty taken aback by the reaction she inspired.

"I think that we should have more respect from both sides of the aisle, and I was blown away by how much disrespect that I got, how rude people were to me, for a simple act of cleaning up our president, who is the highest office of the land," she said during an interview on Fox News. "He should be respected, whether it's his Hollywood star or just talking about him in public."

She’s not wrong at all, but virtually any post of a political nature will inspire reaction from the other side. There were some users that came out in favor of what she did, including Sean Hannity and Eric Trump.

"Wow. Great American. @CNN @NBCNews @JoeNBC (who called the @POTUS a schmuck, liar, goon etc.). Watch and learn what respect for the office is," wrote Hannity.

"Thank you MaKenna! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain," shared Eric.

It’s understandable that she was a little surprised at the reaction for what she thought was a good deed, but we’ll assume she won’t be so surprised by political rhetoric moving forward. Quite simply, there’s scores of users out there just waiting to pounce at any given second, and they’ll rarely let the opportunity to get their two cents in pass on by. That’s unfortunate, but it’s also a reality that we’ll all have to come to terms with.
