Trump Gets A Music Icon To Perform At His Inauguration

Many celebrities have announced that they would not perform at President Elect Donald Trump's inauguration because ‘on principle’ they dislike him, and some who contemplated appearing have been discouraged by the berating and bullying they received. One legendary singer feels the behavior of his fellow performers is so unfair that he has volunteered to appear.

Sam Moore, 81, member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Grammy Hall of Fame, will be performing at the inaugural events to celebrate the swearing in of President Trump. Initially he planned to merely attend the event to see Jennifer Holiday sing, but after Holiday backed out of the engagement, Moore offered to replace her.

Jennifer Holiday couldn't stand up to the bullying she received after accepting the invitation to perform. Last week, she announced that she would not be appearing and she apologized to liberal fans and celebrities who spewed vitriol at her when she agreed to perform. Moore told the Associated Press that he thought the criticism she got was ‘unfair.'

“I am not going to let them, the left side, intimidate me from doing what I feel is the right thing to do for the country and that (presidential) seal,” Moore told the AP in a phone interview.

Moore says he never met Trump, but he thinks “he's got a big mouth, like me.” He also showed support for the democratic process. “Give the man a shot,” Moore said. “He hasn't even said 'I do' yet. Give him a chance. If you don't like him after four years, then don't vote for him next time.”
