Three Good Samaritans Step In To Help Cop

On Sunday morning, Deputy Mike Walsh of Polk County, Florida had to slam on his motorcycle's breaks when a man ran a stop sign, almost hitting him. Walsh tried to pull the driver over, when Corey Johnson sped off and was stopped half a mile down the road. Walsh said that Johnson got out of his car and started punching him in the face and head, knocking him to the ground.

Johnson tried to flee, but three men driving by stopped to help Walsh. George Cooper helped Walsh off the ground and chased Johnson. Antonio Velazquez also got out of his car and attempted to tackle Johnson. Then, former law enforcement officer, Christopher Carver stopped to help. Carver stated that he helped Walsh detain Johnson when he saw the two rolling around in the center median of the street. Walsh ended up breaking his thumb. Johnson was charged with battery of an officer. Previously, he had been charged seven times in Polk County, Florida.
