Student Snaps Photo Of Teacher When He Isn't Paying Attention, Pic Goes Viral (Photos)

One teacher will lend a hand in any way he can to ensure that his students will graduate. A girl posted a photo of him taking care of her baby in class while she completed her work.

Kimmy Lopez of Springfield, Massachusetts came across a viral photo online that featured a teacher holding a student's baby while he taught. The story says that the baby had been crying in class and the teacher was trying to calm him down.

Lopez reposted the image, along with her own: a photo of her own teacher, two years earlier, holding her son in class.

"Teachers are the real MVP," wrote Lopez on her Facebook post.

She explained that the photo on the right 'is my old teacher Mr. Guy... holding my [10-month-old] son while I was in class.'

According to Lopez, she wasn't able to afford daycare and she worried that having a baby so young was going to prevent her from finishing school. When she expressed her concerns to the administrators, she was told to bring him to school. "They set up a play pen in their office, brought toys and snacks for my baby, he even took my son to run errands with him, all so that I could come to school every day, study peacefully and focus on my books so that I graduate with my class," she said.

Tommy Guy is well known at Central High School for going out of his way to help students succeed, but the modest teacher shrugs it off. “She was a very focused student; She knew what she wanted to do, so we wanted to help her the best way we could,” he said. “We actually had a playpen in the room. He was a piece of cake to be there. He enjoyed being there, like, he knew his mother was doing something special.”

Mr. Guy had a message for Ms. Lopez: “Kimberly, keep up the great work. We are all proud of you. Everyone that worked with you and knows you is very proud of you and I appreciate the shout out.”
