School Claims To Be Haunted And Has The Video To Prove It

An old school in Cork, Ireland had a long history, and like most old buildings, it could sometimes give people the chills. Most of the time, people would brush off the odd sound, or strange sensations, chalking them up to natural causes. After the school installed motion-sensor cameras in the hallways, though, they couldn't ignore what the camera caught one night.

Security cameras at Deerpark CBS seemed to have caught some paranormal activity going on in the school late at night. The halls were empty - or at least, there were no living bodies around when the footage was captured. The school officials shared some of the scary images caught by the security cameras.

The motion cameras in one seemingly ordinary hallway were set off by an unknown source. Everything looks quiet at first, but then a door at the end of the hall opens. A few seconds later, it violently slams shut with tremendous force.

A few seconds after that, a locker begins to shake back and forth, as if someone were tipping it forward, then slamming it back against the wall repeatedly.

A few seconds later, a locker unlatches by itself, and a few books and papers fly out with the force of the door flying open. Finally, a yellow 'wet floor' caution sign gets knocked down. Then the footage ends.

“Obviously we were alerted to movement in the school and when we went back to review the movement that’s what we saw,” said Principal Kevin Barry. “It was in the middle of the night. We’re bemused ourselves, we don’t know what it is.”

Some people are calling hoax, especially since it's so close to Halloween. The school has an event planned that they dubbed 'Fearpark'. But if it is a prank, the principal either doesn't know about it or refuses to give up the ghost, so to speak. He insists that there's something generally spooky about the hallway.

"We do feel there is something strange going on because people do get from time to time a real chill in the air when they go past that area," Barry said. “It’s very interesting – one of my teachers brings his pet in with him but the pet never wants to go down that way.”

Barry posted the film to his Facebook page, saying he considers himself a skeptic. "Is somebody playing games with us?” he wrote.

“People in old buildings are always hearing noises and strange sounds but this is the first time we’ve actually caught something,” the principal explained. “We’d often come across papers strewn about but we were never able to say what it was, we just assumed it was students that were doing it.”

He adds that if it was a prank, the motion detectors would have caught any jokers coming or leaving the area, but in reviewing the footage they couldn't find anyone. At least, not anyone with a flesh-and-blood body.
