Runaway Sisters Found Hiding At Horse Ranch

In April 2013, Samantha Rucki, 17 and Gianna Rucki, 16, ran away from their Minnesota home. This was during a time their parents were battling for their custody.

On Wednesday, the police executed a search warrant and found the girls at the White Horse Ranch in Herman, around 160 miles west of the Twin Cities. Investigators believe an underground network of family court critics were hiding the sisters there.

The search warrant was served at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday. The police made their way to the White Horse Ranch after searching the St. Cloud home of Dede Evavold, a supporter of a movement known as the "Protective Parent."

The group believes that children are often put in the care of the wrong parent, often in abusive situations.

The ranch website says it is a place where "broken children and hurting horses are able to bring each other to a place of healing through God's unconditional love."

Gianna and Samantha were 13 and 14 when they ran away from home on April 19, 2013. A psychologist had concluded that they had been brainwashed by their mother. The girls said their father had been abusing them, but the court found no evidence of the abuse.

Rucki was granted sole custody. Information then surfaced that Sandra Grazzi-Rucki had helped her children run away. She was arrested in Florida on October 18. She was charged with three counts of felony deprivation of parental rights and is being held on $1 million bail.
