Oprah’s Comments About Donald Trump Lands Her In Hot Water

Oprah Winfrey has long supported Democratic candidates for president, and the 2016 election has been no different. Winfrey through her powerful liberal influence behind former Secretary of State Hillary of Clinton. After Trump won the election, Oprah tried to tweet a message of hope. Fellow liberal celebrities are outraged that Oprah didn't express enough outrage.

Thursday, barely two days after the election, Oprah tweeted, "Everybody take a deep breath! #HopeLives," along with an image of Trump meeting with President Barack Obama, whom Oprah supported in 2008 and 2012.

Celebrities, known for being overly-dramatic, are livid that Oprah is accepting the outcome of the Democratic process.

Heather Matarazzo tweeted, "Oprah, you can take a deep breath and hold it while the rest of us literally fight for our lives right now."

"I used to have great respect for Oprah. (past tense)," tweeted Scott Weinberg.

John Early tweeted in menacing caps, "DON'T YOU DARE OPRAH."

Protests since the election was called for Trump have gotten out of hand. Entire cities were shut down as hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets. Rioting has resulted in damage to both public and private property, as well as physical attacks. Rioters have set fires not only to items in protest, such as the American Flag and images of Trump, but also to buildings.

Maybe Oprah is wrong; hope doesn’t live here anymore.
