Nurses Stunned When An Elderly Woman Demand They Take Her Grandson Back - Then They Realize Why

The typical grandparent is generally overjoyed to welcome a new grandchild to the family, but this woman from Columbia is clearly not your average everyday grandma. As the Daily Mail reports, she attempted to return her newborn grandson because he was ugly.

The stunning incident took place in the city of Santa Marta. An unidentified woman had given birth to a healthy baby boy at the local clinic, and mom and baby returned home once they were well enough. They returned a short time later, and this time grandma was in tow. Reports indicate that grandma stormed into the clinic and caused a scene.

“The grandmother was not very happy. She did not identify the baby as a new member of the family and therefore she decided to come back to the clinic along with the mother of the baby to return him. The situation should be accepted. Sometimes biology, genetics play a role in these mistakes and we should accept them,” according to Carlos Pallares, health secretary on Santa Marta' city council

She was convinced that the baby must have been switched at birth. In her eyes, the child was far too ugly to be a relative of hers, and she wanted the baby swapped back immediately. Staff at the clinic remained calm and politely informed her that the baby was the only male child born at the clinic at that time, and there was simply no way there was a mix-up.

That wasn’t enough to appease her, so the staff gave the baby a complete check-up. Everything was deemed to be a-ok on their end, so grandma finally got the hint and left. The baby is staying with family and said to be doing well, but the same can’t be said for grandma. Chadan Rosado, a city council spokesman, says that she’s undergoing treatment. No word on whether or not the baby is somewhat unsightly, or if it’s just a case of granny being off her rocker.
