Murderer Text's Victims Mother: "She Wanted To Tell You Something Before I Killed Her"

A mother’s nightmare of losing her daughter to a murderer got worse when the alleged killer started harassing her with cruel text messages, The Huffington Post reported.

Brenda O’Laughlin described the texts during her testimony in court on Wednesday, as part of John Wilson Jr.’s trial. She said the man’s first message, sent one day after she discovered her 14-year-old child’s body in the family home in October 2011, stated simply “Hello Brenda.” In another message, Wilson wrote “Love your pic.” He then allegedly texted: “She wanted me to tell you something before I killed her.” A fourth message stated: “Think I’m in love with you Bren.”

According to prosecutors, the texts clearly were written by the accused killer because they were sent from the cellphone of the victim, Kelli O’Laughlin. The mother testified that she refused to reply to the messages, as she awaited advice from police about how to deal with the situation.

Then, Wilson allegedly wrote to Brenda: “You got 2 min to text me before I break this phone.” The mother fired back: “Who are you and what do you want?” She told jurors that Wilson replied: “You will know soon when I come see you.” He soon stopped texting O’Laughlin, and several days later police apprehended him.

HuffPost noted that if the 38-year-old Wilson is found guilty of first-degree murder and sent to prison, it won’t be the first time he has landed behind bars. He also is charged with residential burglary.
