Mother Working As A Bartender Shocked By The Tip A Truck Driver Left Her On A Night Shift

Kari Anthony started up a conversation with a trucker who came into Quaker Steak and Lube in Nebraska where she works as a bartender. The single mother of three and the truck driver started talking about their families, according to Little Things.

She talked about being a single mom, and made him comfortable enough to open up about his own life. That’s when he started telling her stories about his own mother.

“I guess we were able to relate a little bit,” Kari said, according to Little Things.

After their conversation he finished up his meal and paid his $89.72 bill. She almost lost her mind when she saw the tip that he left for her.

She figured she’d be lucky to get a $5 tip, but instead her left her $1,000. She didn’t know what to say. When she finally found her words, she told him he didn’t have to do that. He, however, insisted upon it. She was so nervous that she had to talk to the manager about it. So the manager came out and spoke to the guy for 10 minutes. Kari said she was “shaking really bad” the whole time.

The driver refused to take no for an answer. Not only did he tip her an insane amount, he also paid for the tabs of the other patrons in the bar that he spoke to. Kari decided to take her children to the Nebraska State Fair with the money, something they always wanted to do but couldn’t afford until the kindness of this one man.
