Mother Reports Toddler's Erratic Behavior But Can't Explain Why

A Louisiana mother noticed her toddler daughter behaved unusually when she would be left for a period of time. She couldn't get her child to stop, so she went to the police.

The Prairieville mother-of-two, Tyler Dauzat, had just arrived at a motel on Sunday, when shortly after she walked in, she noticed what her 2-year-old daughter was doing. The 21-year-old needed to get help when she was worried about what her daughter had been learning.

Tyler brought her daughter to the doctor, who called the moment "erratic." The mother said she had no idea why. Yet, after further tests and questioning, it was revealed that Tyler's behavior was concerning. According to The New Orleans Advocate, the 2-year-old was showing signs of being high on meth and acting aggressively.

Child Welfare authorities asked why her daughter had a significant amount of meth in her system. Tyler would not admit to any part of it until she confessed that she had left the 2 and 4-year-olds in the motel room with her purse, which had large amounts of meth inside. The curious 2-year-old got a hold of the meth in powder form.

Tyler was taken into custody on two counts of negligent injuring and cruelty to juveniles, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, and improper supervision of a minor. Thankfully, her drugged up toddler is expected to make a full recovery. She will be placed into protective custody with her older sibling, upon release from the hospital.

Hopefully the mother realizes that she almost killed her children and sobers up.
