Man's Lawn-Mowing Habits Receive Response Of Shock And Awe On Social Media

Unless you’re the type that absolutely loves yard work, mowing the lawn is a gigantic pain in the neck. As with most unenjoyable tasks, the best approach is typically to attack it head on and get it over with. That’s what this man from Three Hills, Alberta, Canada was doing, and his loving wife was so proud that she took a picture of her man hard at work. She would end up sharing the snap, and wouldn’t you know it, it took on a life of its own. So what was so special about this pic?

As the Independent Journal Review shares, it’s pretty darn special because dear old hubby is mowing away while a tornado just happens to be swirling in the background. It looks like it’s about to swoop in any second, but hubby seems unfazed. His wife doesn’t seem too worried either, hence her feeling the need to get the camera out as opposed to commanding her hubby to get inside.

The couple behind the viral sensation has been tracked down. Cecilia Wessels swears it’s really not as bad as it looks.

"My daughter was the most upset, saying 'Mum, what we gonna do?'" she explains.

Mom kept her cool, and dad wasn’t about to quit until he was done. That’s when inspiration struck, and she pulled out the camera.

“My beast mowing the lawn with a breeze in his hair,” she captioned the pic.

As Wessels explains, she wasn’t oblivious to the fact that there was a tornado in the background. In fact, she wanted to specifically share that with her parents.

“I literally took the picture to show my mum and dad in South Africa, 'Look there's a tornado,' and now everyone is like, 'Why is your husband mowing the lawn?'” she said. “Our whole street, everyone was on their back patios taking pictures,” she said.

Fair enough, but even her mother was pretty taken aback by the haunting image.

"Why are you letting him outside? Please stay safe," Mom replied.

As the couple explains it, the tornado is actually pretty far off in the background. However, reports indicate that it did touch down just a few miles from their home. While we’ll assume this couple is perfectly happily married, we lean towards the side of Cecilia’s mom. Hubby should have gotten his butt inside pronto. Of course, social media would’ve been lacking an instant classic if he did that.

"This is the craziest picture! Lol. I'm glad that the tornado didn't come down on your house!” shared one user.

"The Chuck Norris of lawn mowers!" added another.

Assuming the latter commenter is on the right track, perhaps hubby’s plan was to wait for the tornado to get closer and proceed to take it down with some well-timed windmill kicks. Either that or he really had no idea what was behind him, and his wife didn’t tell him so she could be sure to get a really cool pic. Sounds like we’ll never know for sure, so we’ll just continue enjoying this viral sensation that’s full of questions.
