Malaysian Teen Lives With Twin’s Fetus Inside Of Him For 15 Years

A Malaysian teen got a little more than he bargained for when he started experiencing stomach pain. As WatchThis reports, the pain turned out to be a rare medical condition that was possibly the first of its kind in Malaysia.

The teen had been experiencing pain for a few months before finally receiving medical attention. Turns out the teen was actually living with his twin’s unborn fetus inside of him the whole time, a condition known as fetus in fetu.

"It's almost like a vanishing twin, or sometimes called a parasitic twin. I have actually seen a case of the fetus being attached to the outside of the living twin, so it's possible for the twin to be both inside or outside the body," explained Dr. S. Raman.

The teen’s mother said the fetus was nearly completely formed with features such as legs, hands and hair, but the nose and mouth had yet to form. Fetus in fetu is a rare condition that occurs in only one out of every 500,000 live births.
