Hubert Tang was walking on a street outside San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday when he found a $20 bill. He decided to use it to buy two $10 scratch-off tickets at a market in Millbrae. One of his tickets was a winner for a $1 million top prize. The California Lottery said on Sunday that Tang had not bought a lottery ticket in 10 years.

In a statement, Tang said "I told my friend who I was with that I didn't know if it was real, but 'I think I just won a million dollars'." The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selilng the winning ticket last Wednesday. Tang also has a second chance to win up to $25,000 for the other ticket he purchased that was not a winner. Tang, who works as a bartender, says he plans to save the money for now. He has not missed a day of work since his win.
