Kim Kardashian Goes For Damage Control After Losing Followers Due To Cellulite Photos

Cellulite happens, especially when you're the 36-year-old mother of two. For some women, it's a simple fact of life, but for women like Kim Kardashian, it's apparently everything.

The celebrity reportedly lost more than 100,000 followers on social media after some candid paparazzi photos from Mexico showed her backside dimpled with cellulite. The star was mortified, and she's now striking back.

Kardashian was mortified when some photos were taken of her as she frolicked on a beach in Mexico. The celebrity was in a thong bikini and on a vacation celebrating her sister' Khloe's birthday.

Photos spread across tabloids and websites showed a less-than-flattering, untouched, cellulite-speckled behind.

For the woman who thought her naked backside would 'break the internet', it was too much to take. Kardashian immediately shot back saying the photos were altered to make her look like she had cellulite.

Many of Kardashian's social media fans called her out, though, for the numerous smooth-skinned photos she was always posting. Fans accused her of getting them photoshopped to make her skin look flawless.

Kardashian argued that the photos that she normally posted were 'natural', which some people found laughable. Some were so angry by the perceived deception that they unfollowed Kardashian.

"Kim you make me feel sick talking about your flawless body when you run to the plastic surgeon for everything. There is nothing real about you," said one follower.

"Nothing natural about years of Botox," said another commenter.

"Absolutely unbelievable. Wake up and face reality. Photoshop is your best friend," said another.

Followers on social media are literally the star's bread and butter, and she's made a career of being famous. Kardashian went into a depression and even complained on her reality show, 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians', about how cruel the public can be.

"I just am in the house so much that I get so freaked out if anyone, like, looks at me," she said in the episode. "[It's a] full phobia — I freak out about everything. Why do I subject myself to being seen? Why don't I just stay at home?"

She claims that people criticizing her looks has given her body dysmorphia. But Kardashian is pushing past that now and trying to grab some of her fans back.

She recently posted an image on Instagram showing off her hourglass figure in a bikini bottom and low-cut V-neck t-shirt.

"Hey!" was the caption.

In a tweet the same week, she wrote, "Oh and as for me you ask? ...I'm just sitting here on the beach with my flawless body."

It's not clear who she's trying to convince-- her fans, or herself.

There is no doubt that it’s hard work for Kardashian and she’s in a tough spot. People expect her to be perfect and lash out at her when she’s not, and she has a right to complain that people can be too harsh.

However, she’s the one who built a multi-million-dollar career on the illusion of perfection. Like any other illusionist, when you slip up and let some of your secrets get away, don’t be so shocked that people notice.
