Inmate Who Killed Child Molester In Prison Tells Judge He Did It For This Simple Reason

A convicted murderer serving a life sentence at the Saginaw Correctional Facility will have even more time tacked onto his sentence as the result of his actions behind bars. According to MLive, he killed his cellmate after finding out what he was behind bars for.

Steven D. Sandison, 51, got wind of the fact that his cellmate, 67-year-old Theodore Dyer, was behind bars after being convicted on child molestation charges. Sandison would kill his cellmate soon thereafter, and explained to the judge at a plea hearing on the matter exactly how it went down.

"That night, he was trying to justify why he did it, and I told him to keep quiet and that he'd have to leave in the morning, find a new cell. But he continued to talk about it, try to justify it. So, he was a little bit bigger than me, so I got down, and I hit him in his face a few times. When he fell, I wrapped a cord around his neck and I took his life," he explained.

He remained fully calm and cooperative throughout the hearing, but he’s been transferred and held at the Ionia Correctional Facility at the highest security level.
