Florida Man Caught with Pipe Bomb and Large Collection of Ammunition

On Monday, federal agents arrested Michael Ramos, 24, in his home. Former employer, Kenneth Ray O'Neill, tipped off the agents about Ramos' cadre of weapons.

In the arrest, authorities found eight pipe-bombs, a pistol, smoke grenades, tear gas, ammunition and an AK-47. Ramos said the weapons were for personal protection.

O'Neill had employed Ramos at the company he ran, Patriot Armor, which manufactures body armor for law enforcement and firefighting agencies.

Ramos said, "if s*** hits the fan, you never know if you might need it." During the police investigation, O'Neill and his brother had Ramos on the phone to speak about the pipe bombs. In the conversation, Ramos agreed to get rid of the bombs but said he didn't know how to dispose of the "boom booms."

Ramos' landlord Marisa said, "My reaction is very shocked, honestly. That guy is a very nice guy."

Ramos also has a criminal history including charges for domestic violence, battery and cocaine possession. He could face charges related to the illegal transfer of a firearm and making a firearm.
