Fearless Child Takes Charge Of Family When He Thinks His Mother Has Died

When it comes to medical emergencies even adults are regularly frozen with indecision and fear, resulting in the loss of valuable seconds before seeking help. However, a 5-year-old boy named Sal Cicalese has recently defied the expectations of his age after his heroic actions helped save his mother’s life. The young boy was playing with his sister at home when he heard a crash from the shower. Sal’s mother, Kaitlyn, had collapsed after having a sudden seizure and upon seeing her prostrate form, Sal thought his mother was dead.

Rather than fleeing from the distressing scene or losing his wits, the resourceful 5-year-old boy realized that he had to get help. Sal was able to exit the garage by climbing on top of a stool, all while carrying his baby sister in a makeshift sling. The young boy raced to the home across the street where Kaitlyn’s neighbor, Jessica Penoyer answered the door. Jessica was stunned when Sal mournfully said “My mom died in the shower. Can you take care of us?” The boy’s neighbor recalls her confusion on a fateful day, saying: “He’s standing there and he’s holding something and I thought it was a doll.”

However, once she realized the gravity of what the 5-year-old boy was saying, Jessica immediately called 9-11, telling the operator: “My neighbor’s son just came to my house and said that his mom was dead in the shower.”

In a stunning turn of events, when paramedics arrived at the home, it was discovered that Kaitlyn was still alive, although in dire need of medical and practical attention. Kaitlyn remains in awe and in debt to her child, saying: “Honestly, he saved my life because I was under the faucet and if he wouldn’t have gotten help, I would’ve drowned.” Since the incident, Kaitlyn and the local community have been thinking of some way to convey their appreciation towards Sal. You’ll be stunned to see what they decided to do, check out the video to find out more!
