Family Shocked by Shooter in Parking Lot of Local Post Office

Michel Beshay and his wife had moved to New Jersey to escape the consistent violence that plagued them in their home country of Egypt.

The family went to their local post office as Michel stayed in the car with their two kids. As they sat waiting for their mother, what happened next was unfathomable.

As if in an instant, a dozen gunshots were heard right next to their car. Michel was naturally caught off guard, but then he noticed that one of the bullets hit their one-and-a-half-year-old, Mina, in the face.

The broken glass also cut him under his eye. Fortunately, no one else was hurt during the attack. Mina had to be taken to Jersey City Medical Center to undergo surgery to remove the bullet from his right cheek.

Mina's uncle, Michael Beshay, said, "He got hurt in his face and was left here bleeding." The ironic thing is Michel left Egypt hoping to find a safer environment for raising his children.

A police spokesperson said, “Mina was an unintended target and that detectives are still searching for the shooter." The bullet was successfully removed from Mina's cheek on Saturday.
