Dog's Loyalty To Owner Is Heartbreaking

In the middle of the road lay a dog, refusing to budge or move from the spot his owner had been killed in a hit-and-run.

The dog was lying down for hours at that location where his owner was killed by a truck. Kelly Black, 42, had been walking her dog Paco in Jacksonville on Friday morning when she was struck by a tractor-trailer and killed.

When police arrived, they found Paco lying on the street next to his owner. His head was held low as he watched police put up crime screen tape around him. Paco remained near the crash site for hours before Black’s family came to get him. The dog and his owner had been "inseperable."

Police told reporters on Friday that there were no witnesses to the accident. The driver may not have even been aware that they hit Black. The victim's mom told WFOX that she hopes someone will step forward with information about the crash.
