CEO Is Offering a Reward For Finding A Girlfriend

There are a lot of ways for singles to meet other people these days. You can do it the old-fashioned way and approach someone at a bar or a coffee shop. You can do it with technology, by connecting with like-minded individuals on Facebook, looking for a date on Tinder, or you can even get serious with expensive online dating services that try to match you to your perfect partner.

For one guy, all of these methods were failing, so he's trying a new approach. He's advertising, and offering a reward.

Joe Cohen moved to Southern California and tried to meet women using technology, or by approaching them in public places, but he feels like it's just not working. The 30-year-old entrepreneur says that he thinks the best way to meet a partner is through social circles, but unfortunately, since he's new to the area, he doesn't have any where he's living now.

“If you ask around, most women meet guys through social circles, school, or work. The problem is, as I mentioned, my social circles in southern California are limited, I’m not in school, and it’s not a good practice to date your employees,” he writes.

He's come up with a new plan to find the woman of his dreams. The CEO of the company SelfHacked designed a complex dating advertisement on his blog. He's hoping that someone will see it who knows a woman that might be a good match for him, and he's willing to pay a hefty reward for information that will lead him to the right woman - but there's a catch. The relationship has to last for at least four months.

The young entrepreneur does have a few requirements, but nothing out of line. Cohen is looking for a woman who is reasonably attractive, intelligent, conscientious, easy-going, open-minded, honest and kind. He wants someone who is 'low on neuroticism', with 'low volatility' and 'low withdrawal'. She'll also preferably be Jewish.

The woman must be in Southern California, or willing to move there-- at least for the four months he feels it will take to get to know her. He is willing to fly her in and put her up in an Airbnb for that time.

If you can introduce Cohen to someone who can set him up with a woman that he ends up dating, he'll pay $2,000. If you can set him up with a woman he dates for 4 months, he'll pay $10,000.

There is a catch, though. The woman has to be in SoCal for four months straight. "If she comes here for 1 month, leaves for 3 months and comes back 3 months later, that's not counted as four months of dating," he notes.

He also says if he ends up falling in love but needs to move out of SoCal to be with her, the deal is off. "The point of the reward is to find someone in SoCal."

This could be the new wave of dating; cut out the middlemen. Everyone could just put up an advertisement on their personal webpage and offer a reward instead of paying a dating website.
