Beautiful Monument For Carrie Fisher And Debbie Reynolds Has Been Unveiled

The news of the death of the world's most beloved princess, Carrie Fisher, who is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Trek franchise was a sad blow. Things were only made worse when, days later, America's sweetheart, Debbie Reynolds, died as well. Reynolds was known best for her roles in 'Singin' in the Rain' the 'Tammy' film series and 'Halloween Town' movies. A new monument to the mother and daughter has been unveiled and it is breathtaking.

Fisher and Reynolds lived next door to each other in Los Angeles and were buried next to each other at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Los Angeles. Actually, only part of Fisher was buried with her mother. The star was cremated and some of her ashes were placed in an urn that was shaped like a giant Prozac pill. It was placed next to Reynolds in the grave.

The two shared a special relationship in life and now share a joint headstone. The headstone is an instant Hollywood landmark now. The marble stone is topped by a life-sized sculpture of a mother and daughter, standing together, holding hands. It perfectly captures the beautiful relationship that Fisher and Reynolds had.

Fans have already begun making pilgrimages to the graves to pay respects to the two remarkable women. Aside from her film roles and beautiful singing voice, Reynolds was known for her humanitarian work. The year she died she won the 2016 Academy Awards Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Reynolds suffered a stroke at the age of 84 just days after the death of her daughter.

Fisher was revered for opening up and revealing her struggles with mental illness. She was diagnosed as bipolar and struggled for years with addiction. Her humorous yet candid books did much to help raise awareness. According to her wishes, reports say she died from being drowned in the moonlight and strangled by her bra. Fisher was 60.
