Alec Baldwin Is Likened to President Donald Trump for Comments About Black People

Alec Baldwin has never been a fan of President Donald Trump, and he's never been shy about letting people know it. He has been vocally opposed to Trump since before the election. He has slammed Trump at every turn since the election.

The actor has also garnered much praise and acclaim for his 'Saturday Night Live' skits in which he impersonates Trump in an unflattering light. Perhaps the source of contention is that the two men are more alike than either would care to let on.

Alec Baldwin won an Emmy for his portrayal of Donald Trump in ‘SNL’ skits, but he almost seemed to be channeling the POTUS in a recent interview. The 60-year-old actor made comments that had a lot of people scratching their heads, and some wondered just how much of Trump has been rubbing off on him.

Baldwin told the Hollywood Reporter, "Ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, black people go crazy."

"I think it's because they're most afraid of Trump," Baldwin continued. "I'm not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, 'This is going to be bad for black folks.'"

Many people on social media couldn't help but notice how much Baldwin sounded like Trump when making the condescending remarks. Some recalled when Trump was at a campaign rally and asked, "Where's my black person?" Trump is known for his bragging about different people and differing groups loving him, supporting him and approving of him. Baldwin’s stroking of his own ego sounded eerily similar.

"Trumpiest thing ever uttered by someone who isn’t Trump," said one tweet.

"Is he still in character?" asked another.

"Here is alec baldwin's most accurate impression of trump... when he wasn't even playing him," another tweeted.

“Sounds like @AlecBaldwin isn't "acting" when he's playing @realDonaldTrump on @nbcsnl -- he just does Alec Baldwin in a yellow wig and orange makeup,” said another person.

Some people called out Baldwin asking him for proof of this outrageous claim. Olivia Munn, star of 'Predator', tweeted to Baldwin, "I need evidence of this. There are a lot of innocent black people you’re calling out and you shouldn’t be able to do it without receipts."

"Said no black person ever..." one person responded to Baldwin's claim that black people all love him.

"I for real don't think i've ever talked to another black person about Alec Baldwin," said one person on Twitter.

He later added, "This is why method acting is dangerous."

Baldwin has not addressed the backlash yet, and has declined to talk to the media about it.

The actor does believe that there is a lot more love out there for him than for the current POTUS. In fact, in a previous interview, Baldwin has stated that he believes he could beat Trump in the 2020 election.

"If I ran I would win," he told Howard Stern in an interview. "I would absolutely win. One thousand percent I would win.... Hands down I would win. It would be the funniest, most exciting, most crazy campaign."

Baldwin has not expressed any serious interest in entering politics, but he thinks if he did he could inject some ‘common sense’ into the election.
