Airline Blamed This Girl For Being Sexually Assaulted On A Flight Because Of Her Outfit (Photos)

An Australian teen claims she was groped by an elderly man on a flight, but was told by the airline there is no evidence, and she “wore extremely short shorts” and had climbed over another passenger on several occasions.

Chelsea Schiffel was traveling with her family from LA to Sydney on a United Airlines flight at the age of 15 when she claims her breasts were touched, according to various media sources.

The girl alleges the man touched her breasts twice after her mother Narelle, left her seat to move down the cabin to talk to a family member in the rear of the plane.

Chelsea’s mother complained to airline staff and demanded different seats, the pair were asked to return to their seats for the rest of the flight.

United Airlines claimed there was no proof of Chelsea’s allegations in a letter, and suggested her revealing clothing may have contributed to the situation.

“The flight attendants and passengers also stated that you and your daughter were allowed to move to other seats several times, that Chelsea repeatedly moved in and out of her seat, crawling over the other customer who was attempting to sleep, and that your daughter wore extremely short shorts,” the letter stated.

Chelsea, however, noted in an interview that what a woman wears should not be an excuse for sexual misconduct against them.

“For me it comes across, by them saying that, (it) feels like they were telling me that I was asking for it,”Chelsea explained.

The family is looking at legal action against United Airlines, but there is very little evidence of wrongdoing.
