Pentagon Announces We May Not Be Alone In Universe - Reports Of UFO Encounter Not A Hoax

For years, any report of aliens, UFOs and little green men have been chalked up to conspiracy theories invented by gullible people and attention-seeking crackpots. The government has repeatedly denied any knowledge of UFO activity, but apparently, just like the conspiracy theorists said, that was a lie.

The truth is really out there, it seems, and our government is trying to get to the bottom of it.

The Pentagon was running a secret, now defunct, UFO research project led by military officials for years. A New York Times report confirms that the reports are true, and that they have found some evidence of extraterrestrials. For years, they did research in the top-secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.

Respected Cmdr. David Fravor, a retired Navy pilot with 18 years of service, claims that he witnessed an unusual space craft in 2004 during a routine training mission. Fravor says he's never seen anything like it before, and he doesn't think it was anything made on this planet.

"I can tell you, I think it was not from this world," Fravor told ABC News. "I'm not crazy, haven't been drinking. It was — after 18 years of flying, I've seen pretty much about everything that I can see in that realm, and this was nothing close."

What Fravor says he saw off the coast of California was a 40-foot-long wingless, oval-shaped object. It could hover, fly at unimaginable speeds and moved in erratic patterns.

"I have never seen anything in my life, in my history of flying that has the performance, the acceleration — keep in mind this thing had no wings," Fravor said.

Fravor's sighting wasn't the only one reported. Controllers below on Navy ships could see objects coming from out of the sky, going down some 80,000 feet before shooting back up again.

The program was launched to investigate such sightings.

“My personal belief is that there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone,” said Luis Elizondo, who ran the program from 2007 to 2012, in an interview with CNN. “I will tell you unequivocally that through the observation ― scientific methodologies that were applied to look at this phenomenon ― that these aircraft ... are displaying characteristics that are not currently within the U.S. inventory nor in any foreign inventories that we are aware of,” he added.

According to Elizondo, when he left the program in 2012, someone else took over. He's not sure if it's still running now.

According to the Washington Post, the government isn't denying the search for extraterrestrial life anymore. The Pentagon confirmed that the $22 million program existed. The goal was to collect and analyze any potential threats from worlds beyond.

UFO theorists felt vindicated after the news was released. The claims that the government has been investigating UFOs have been circulating for decades, but they were dismissed for spreading unfounded rumors.

Fravor, and many other members of the program like him, are hardly the kind of people one can call a ‘crazy conspiracy theorist’, however. "I don't know if it was alien life, but I will say that in an infinite universe, with multiple galaxies that we know of, that if we're the only planet with life, it's a pretty lonely universe,” he asserts.
