Many Upset With Reverend Graham's Law Enforcement Facebook Post

Recently, Reverend Franklin Graham gave a bit of controversial advice in regard to the police shootings that have occurred in the U.S. He did not acknowledge the large number of police shootings in the U.S. which have been noted by Eugene Robinson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who writes for The Washington Post.

Robinson wrote that the statistics from the FBI for 2013 showed that there were 416 justifiable shootings, which is information voluntarily reported by each state. Robinson also noted that the police killings reported by the media were around 1,000. He stated that there was not a single U.K. police shooting during 2013 and only eight in Germany in the past two years, with approximately 12 in Canada.

Without the mention of any concrete statistics, Rev. Graham posted contradictory information on his Facebook page in March of 2012. He stated that everyone needed to listen up (Latinos, blacks, whites, etc...) and that the majority of police shootings can be avoided. He continued on in the post to state that if the police tell you to stop, that you should stop.

In his statement, Graham failed to take note that Jesus and his disciples were regular violators of the law and that the Apostle Paul wrote about obeying the authorities while he was sitting in jail in Rome. The Reverend is now receiving quite a bit of backlash for his post.
