Reverend Floored By Note Homeless Man Left For Him (Photos)

The First United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC has a long-standing commitment to do what it can to help the homeless population in the area. According to WBTV, they were pretty moved when one of the homeless members of their congregation gave back the best they could.

Staff members had their curiosity piqued when they found a little note on the outside of an envelope from the collection plate from one Sunday’s services. They would find some words written that left them feeling pretty touched.

"Please don't be mad. I don't have much. I'm Homeless. God Bless," the note read.

The envelope contained a total of 18-cents, but the church couldn’t have been happier to receive it.

"We would like the dear soul who donated 18 cents to know that everyone on our team was moved by the spirit in which the gift was made. We gratefully acknowledge that this individual, out of his poverty, has given all he had to live on," said Rev. Patrick S. Hamrick.

The church offers up a breakfast each Sunday that’s known as “Muffin Ministry” for members of the homeless population.
