Whoopi Goldberg Stuns 'The View' Audience By Agreeing With POTUS

If you tune into certain television programs these days, you can expect to hear nonstop chatter about how awful President Donald Trump is in the eyes of those that are doing the yammering. We’re not just talking about on cable news channels either, as talk about Trump has infested almost every talk show format imaginable. That’s especially true on ABC’s ‘The View,’ which devotes an unconscionable amount of time to discussing and bashing the commander-in-chief.

We get it. There’s a ton of interest in the Trump presidency, and there’s also plenty of folks that don’t care for him all that much. But that does that warrant treating him like a pinata each and every day? We can only assume that it does in the minds of the show’s producers, as the panelists have a field day at Trump’s expense on a daily basis. It’s so over the top that it would appear to be heresy if one of the anti-Trump panelists actually had something good to say about him. Surprisingly, that scenario played out during a recent episode.

As AWM shares, co-host Whoopi Goldberg is one of the most vocal Trump bashers that you can find, but she recently stunned the audience when she agreed with him on something. During Trump’s Asian trip, there was coincidentally a rather embarrassing incident that took place involving some US college basketball players that were visiting China. The players were busted for shoplifting, and it turned into a public relations nightmare that could have led to serious jail time for the players.

Trump stepped in and smoothed things over in a bid to avoid an international incident, but the father of one of the players that Trump helped out felt the need to bash the president anyway. The commander-in-chief was quite taken aback by this, and he spoke out about it on social media.

“Now that three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!” Trump wrote.

As with all things Trump, there was an unfathomable amount of debate about who was in the right and who was in the wrong. While Trump can certainly find better things to talk about on social media, there’s really no question about who was, in fact, correct in the grand scheme of things. Surprisingly, Goldberg was among the many that was able to see that without issue.

“You embarrassed your families, you embarrassed the country, and you embarrassed the president. Now I’m not a big fan of the president, but the fact that he had to call and get your a**es out of there is not anything to be proud of or think is cool. Is this just the ridiculous stupidity of youth? Now, you’re in China – you’re this big! It’s not like you’re gonna blend. You’re not going to blend in, run out,” she said. “They caused an international incident where the president had to get involved and call the president of another country. This is really significant.”

Laughably, there were some folks that actually attempted to spin this as if Ball was somehow correct. Thankfully, that was muted out rather quickly, and we’ll take that as a sign that common sense isn’t dead just yet. Kudos to Goldberg for not allowing partisan views to get in the way of a clear example of right and wrong.
