Trump Will ‘Play Golf Or Something’ If He Loses White House Bid

Donald Trump vowed Sunday that he will leave the public stage if he fails to capture the Republican presidential nomination, according to The Hill.

“They fight like hell for six months and they’re saying horrible things; the worst things you can imagine,” the candidate told the crowd at a campaign event in Maryland. “And then one of them loses, one of them wins, and the one who loses says, ‘I just want to congratulate my opponent; he is a brilliant man, he’ll be a great governor or president or whatever.’ I’m not sure you’re ever going to see me there. I don’t think I’m going to lose, but if I do, I don’t think you’re ever going to see me again, folks. I think I’ll go to Turnberry and play golf or something.”

Trump noted that election winners sometimes give their former opponents top positions in the government, but suggested he would not be interested in such an appointment. “That’s how they get rid of them,” he said.

The billionaire businessman told his supporters at the rally that he anticipates earning enough delegates to be victorious in the first round of balloting at July’s GOP national convention in Cleveland, Ohio. He predicted wins in all five states holding primary elections on Tuesday.
