Trump Considering Sarah Palin As His VP Nominee

Sarah Palin could become Donald Trump’s running mate on the Republican Party’s presidential ticket, according to Ben Carson.

The retired pediatric brain surgeon, who ended his own White House bid earlier this year and endorsed Trump, told The Washington Post that the former Alaska governor is on the short list for the vice-presidential nomination. Carson revealed that Trump also is considering Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. All are former GOP presidential candidates.

The Hill reported that Palin, who was Arizona Sen. John McCain’s Republican running mate in 2008, does not expect to get the call from Trump. “Well, I want to help and not hurt, and I am such a realist that I realize there are a whole lot of people out there who would say ‘anybody but Palin,’’ she said during a recent interview on “State of the Union” on CNN. “I don’t want to be a burden on the ticket, and I realize in many eyes, I would be a burden. I just want the guy to win, and I don’t know if I would be the person to help him win.”

According to the Daily Beast, Carson is no longer among the members of Trump’s team who are vetting potential vice-presidential candidates. “What Trump wanted from Carson were names of who he would recommend for a potential candidate,” Armstrong Williams, the doctor’s business manager, told the Daily Beast last week. “He was among several other people making recommendations.”
