Trump Boasts He Would Have Won Election Against Obama

President Obama would not have been elected to a second term in 2012 if his opponent had been Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman declared Tuesday.

“You’re lucky I didn’t run last time when Romney ran because you would have been a one-term president,” Trump said during a campaign speech in South Carolina, according to The Hill.

The Republican White House hopeful was responding to Obama’s comments at a news conference earlier in the day. “I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president, and the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people, and I think they recognize that being president is a serious job,” Obama told reporters. “It’s not hosting a talk show or a reality show, it’s not promotion, it’s not marketing. It’s hard. And a lot of people count on us getting it right, and it’s not a matter of pandering and doing whatever gets you in the news on a given day.”

Trump slammed the president for his record on a number of issues. “You look at our budgets, our spending, we can’t beat ISIS, Obamacare is terrible — we’re going to terminate it — absolutely terminate and replace it,” he said. “You look at everything. Our borders are like Swiss cheese. This man has done such a horrible job; he’s set us back so far.”
