Teacher Made This Bet About Trump - Parents Report Her

The surprise election of Republican President Trump back in November sent some people over the top. While it was shocking, and his first month in office has not done much to reassure anyone, a few people have completely over-reacted to Trump’s win and are suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” A recent example comes to us from a high school in Camarillo, California.

A mom named Jane Germaine claims that her son's English teacher at Campana High School told his class she lost a $100 bet with a friend because President Trump was not been shot on Inauguration Day.

Germaine explained in an interview with the media that she found the teacher's remarks troubling.

"A public school teacher using classroom time to share with students how she lost a bet because the president was not shot on Inauguration Day is beyond reprehensible to me and I do not see how the school district does not find this troubling as well," she remarked.

Also of interest, Germaine claims she has heard about other incidents where teachers at the high school made politically-charged statements in the classroom.

"Teachers telling students that Trump hates women, Fox News is 'fake' news, it's raining so much in Southern California these days because Trump is president, a teacher telling students she is estranged from certain family members because they are conservative — I could go on and on," Germaine continued.

"How is a 15 or 16-year-old supposed to process what this means, especially if their family is conservative, approves of Trump and watches Fox News."

Germaine says the story about the $100 bet about Trump being assassinated was the final straw for her, and she filed a complaint with the school district.

Although the school district responded to her complaint in writing and noted that no laws or school regulations were violated in the incident she complained about, Germaine is still upset.

She notes: "My husband and I feel that our concerns have been completely dismissed by the school and the school district and they are just hoping that we forget about this and go away.”
