Rubio: America Needs The Right Leader To Restore It's Glory

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said that American exceptionalism took a back seat after two terms of failed leadership under President Obama.

He stated that the nation is going in the wrong direction because, “The wrong people are running it." He went on to say, "Too many people in charge have forgotten fundamental truths. Our nation is on the verge of another American century. It begins by turning the page on leaders trapped in yesterday.”

The 2016 presidential candidate promised that America needs only one good leader to restore its glory. He says, “We have had bad presidents before and bad governments before. I believe it is the promise of this generation to expand the message of America to reach more people than ever before. Adjusting to the 21st century means understanding that automation and technology have ultimately changed the nature of work."

Rubio said that mistakes in Obama's economic and foreign policies were the cause of fears over the dwindling U.S. influence. Rubio further criticized Obama's foreign policies by stating, “We can’t be a strong country if we are ambivalent towards our allies and accommodating of our enemies. How can it be that our president shows more respect for the Ayatollah in Iran than our allies in Israel? There has always been evil, but never in so many places and in so many ways."

In addition, Rubio said he felt indebted to the U.S. for how it welcomed his immigrant parents with open arms by sharing “I have a debt to America I can never repay. I want this to be a special nation."
