President Obama Attends Cuban Baseball Game Just Hours After Brussels Terror Attacks

President Obama had a speech scheduled for the Cuban people this morning that was briefly amended after the Brussels terror attacks. The suicide bombings killed over two dozen people in Brussels on their morning commutes.

During his 40-minute speech, Obama only devoted one minute to the Belgian terror attacks. He said that the "thoughts and the prayers of the American people" are with the people of Belgium today. Yet, just a few hours later, the President was all smiles at a baseball game he attended with his family and Raul Castro. This was despite calls for Obama to cut his trip short and lead the world in the response to the attack.

The game started with a moment of silence for the Brussels terrorist attack and the choir sang the national anthems of both countries. The Obamas stayed for the first two innings of the game. They left before the third to head back to the airport for an evening flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Donald Trump was the first of the Republican candidates to respond to the attacks by saying the U.S. needs to "shut the borders." Senator Ted Cruz said, "President Obama is spending his time going to baseball games with the Castros."

Then, Ohio Governor John Kasich said on CNN, "I'm a little surprised that the president is going to a baseball game when I believe – if I would have been president I would have cut short my visit, I would have flown home, I would have conducted calls jointly with heads of state and gone to assemble teams of people, intelligence experts, who can take a look at the serious breaches that we have in intelligence."

Donald Trump also tweeted, "President Obama looks and sounds so ridiculous making his speech in Cuba, especially in the shadows of Brussels. He is being treated badly!"
