Newt Gingrich Thinks Donald Trump Could Win It All

While some say that Donald Trump hurts the Republican party, former GOP power figure Newt Gingrich says that Donald Trump is capable of winning both the Republican presidential nomination and the general election in order to become the nation's 45th president. While speaking on ABC News' "This Week," the former House Speaker and presidential candidate was asked if Trump could beat the other candidates.

Gingrich told host Martha Raddatz, "Absolutely...I think he also could be the president." Raddatz then asked how Trump could do it. Gingrich said "I think you might be surprised." Now a political commentator on CNN, Gingrich was asked if Trump's straightforward style hurt the Republican party. Gingrich responded "I doubt it." Gingrich added that Univision journalist Jorge Ramos "is the opponent of Donald Trump. Every night on Univision, he opposes the Republican party."
