Here’s What Would Happen If Trump Got Rid Of Obama’s Executive Orders

President-elect Donald Trump made a ton of promises up and down the campaign trail, and we’ll have to wait and see exactly how many he will follow through on. One of his biggest talking points was that he would undo virtually all of President Obama’s executive orders, and that led to plenty of furrowed brows.

As Think Progress reports, that’s because many of the president’s actions weren’t all that controversial to begin with. For example, Obama signed four specific orders that mandated non-essential federal employees would only be required to work a half-day on Christmas Eve. It’s pretty hard to see overturning that one going over too well, or exactly what effect it would have on the greater good of the nation.

Of course, there were much more serious matters tended to in some of Obama’s orders, namely sanctions against specific people that have been deemed to be involved in international crimes, as well as matters related to emergency succession orders.

In short, what Trump said on the trail made for a great talking point with his supporters, but he would be wise to take a closer look at the things he’s considering overturning.
