Giuliani: Clinton Is 'Now Running Against The FBI, Not Donald Trump'

Rudy Giuliani, referring to the renewed federal investigation of emails related to Hillary Clinton, declared Tuesday that the Democratic presidential nominee is “now running against the FBI, not Donald Trump.”

Newsmax, quoting Politico, reported that the former New York City mayor defended FBI Director James Comey against attacks from the Clinton campaign. “A week ago they loved him; now he’s the worst,” Giuliani told the crowd at a campaign rally for the Republican presidential ticket in Eau Claire, Wis.

He compared the criticism Comey is getting from Clinton and her supporters with “what they did to Monica Lewinsky,” the White House intern who had an affair with Bill Clinton while he was president in the 1990s. Giuliani cited another historical event, which led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. “We can’t allow another Watergate to happen” by electing Hillary Clinton to the nation’s highest office, he said.

The conservative Republican, who was mayor of the country’s largest city on 9/11, has been giving speeches and making television talk-show appearances on behalf of Trump. He is one of the few GOP leaders who has continued to actively support their party’s presidential nominee.

Dozens of congressional Republicans withdrew their endorsements of Trump following the release of a 2005 audio recording in which the real-estate mogul could be heard bragging about kissing and groping women without their consent. Since then, 12 women have accused Trump of sexual assault.
