Eric Trump Says His Dad Would Protect U.S. Interests

Donald Trump wants to be president so he can reverse policies that allow other nations to take “advantage” of the United States, according to one of the presumptive Republican nominee’s children.

“I’m the farthest thing from a politician, but I am an American, and I see what’s happening out there and it’s the very reason my father is running,” Eric Trump said Sunday on “The Cats Roundtable” radio program in New York City. “He’s tired of seeing us being taken advantage of; he’s tired of seeing us used; he’s tired of seeing currencies of other countries being manipulated and us losing.”

Newsmax reported that the billionaire businessman’s son criticized the Clintons for having received $114 million in contributions from foreign governments and businesses for their family’s charitable foundation while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state. “Here’s a person who’s supposed to be going around the world representing the United States' interests. It’s the abuse of power. It’s corruption within government,” Eric Trump declared.

Arguing that his father would more effective than President Obama or Clinton in protecting the country from terrorism, he told program host John Catsimatidis: “Someone has to take the fight to ISIS. Someone has to be able to point out radical Islamic terrorism, which our president, for whatever reason, isn’t willing to say and neither is Hillary. It’s years of her foreign policy that created the problem. We have destabilized the entire Middle East.”
