Elderly Woman Gets Kicked Out of Church for Insane Reason

In a surprising turn of events, a 92-year-old Georgia woman, who's been a member of the same church for over 50 years, says she was kicked out. Josephine King told Fox6 that she received a letter from her church. The letter read that she should no longer attend because she was not tithing. King's nephew, Gerald Simmons, said “She was stunned. She was disappointed. She was shocked. You shouldn’t chase the individuals down. You shouldn’t do that. If that’s the case, you’re money hungry.”

On Facebook, a woman claiming to be King's niece, posted the letter. The letter, which was signed by Sr. Pastor Derrick Mike, says that King is no longer able to “participate in any engagements [or] worship opportunities” due to “non-support…in the areas of financial and physical participation.”

Simmons went on to say that King was very sick for the past several months, that kept her from participating in church activities--but, she had gone "above and beyond" in supporting the church in the past. King was a member of the First African Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia. Simmons added “You got to have money to make these churches run, but it’s not about money. It’s about God. You have to put God first.”
