Donald Trump: Iran Deal Was Negotiated Poorly on Purpose

At a rally in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday night, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump talked about the nuclear deal with Iran. He said it was was so bad, he wonders if it was done on purpose.

He stated, “It’s almost like there has to be something else going on. I don’t think there is, I just don’t think they’re competent.”

He went on to say that he doesn't believe the U.S. would agree to a deal that did not include the return of American prisoners held in Iran by saying “Who would make that deal?”

In addition, he implied that Tehran was celebrating as the deal was being negotiated. He explained that the U.S. should have started by insisting on getting the prisoners back. Iran would have refused, but by doubling and tripling sanctions, they would come around.

Trump declared of the prisoners “They will be out before I take office.” Of Secretary of State John Kerry, Trump said, “I can’t believe they didn’t walk from that negotiation.”

He added, “People want, not that phony Obama change. People want strength, they want competence.”
