Donald Trump Declines Invite to Megyn Kelly Town Hall

The Fox News Channel recently announced that host Megyn Kelly will host a two-hour “voter summit” in Houston on Wednesday. She will question candidates the night after the Nevada caucus and ahead of super Tuesday. Yet, there is one candidate who declined to appear.

The candidates who are confirmed to participate in The Kelly File: Face to Face with Candidates include, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. John Kasich — who will join by remote while his campaign will be stationed in New Orleans — and Sen. Marco Rubio, who also will appear via satellite.

On the other hand, the Trump campaign cited a scheduling conflict, due to engagements in Virginia and New York. In a statement, the campaign said Trump is looking forward to participating in the March FNC GOP debate in Detroit. Kelly will question the other four GOP White House candidate individually. She will also give them questions from a selection of Texas voters.

On Saturday, GOP front-runner Donald Trump walked away with all 50 of South Carolina’s delegates.

Trump has sparred with Kelly since she asked him to address comments he had made calling women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals," back at the first GOP debate in August. Trump then declined to participate in FNC’s GOP debate in January because Kelly was again one of the moderators, explaining: “I have zero respect for Megyn Kelly. I don’t think she’s very good at what she does. She’s highly overrated.” He then said that decision may have caused him a second-place finish in Iowa behind Ted Cruz.
