Declassified Report Shows Obama Knew Benghazi Attacks Were Planned

A newly declassified government document proves the Obama administration knew that terrorists planned the 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, according to IJReview.

The Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency alleged in the report that an organization called The Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman was responsible for the incident, which resulted in the deaths of four Americans. The group reportedly is linked to al-Qaida.

The DIA sent the document to President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and other officials one day after the Benghazi attacks, according to Judicial Watch.

“The attack was planned 10 or more days prior (Sept. 1, 2012). The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for U.S. killing of Aboyahiye in Pakistan and in memorial of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center buildings,” Judicial Watch reported.

JW obtained the intelligence report by filing a request under the Freedom of Information Act. IJ Review pointed out that the DIA document was written nearly three weeks before President Obama spoke to the nation about the Benghazi attacks.
