Coulter Warns Of ‘Big Sell-out’ By Trump On Immigration Reform

Ann Coulter is among a growing number of conservatives who fear Donald Trump is backing off his campaign pledge to deport undocumented foreigners and enact stricter immigration controls, Newsmax reported.

On Twitter, the author and political commentator accused Trump of being a “big sell-out” on the issue. She pointed out that Vice President-elect Mike Pence, during an interview on CBS News last week, signaled a softening in Trump’s mass-deportation promise. The incoming president has said he no longer plans to force all undocumented immigrants to leave the country.

"The speaker of the House told us that when it comes to deporting 11 million illegal immigrants, it’s not going to happen, and he won’t fund it,” Coulter said on CBS News. “I promise you that we’re going to get a tremendous amount of support from members on Capitol Hill for border security, for strengthening internal enforcement, expanding our border agents, expanding Immigration and Customs Enforcement, identifying and prioritizing the removal from this country of criminal illegal aliens, those who’ve overstayed their visas.”

She continued: “I’m very confident that we’ll have broad-based support in the Congress for what the president-elect outlined in the course of his campaign, and we’re going to work every day to make sure that we advance those policies and end illegal immigration once and for all.”
