Ben Carson Predicts GOP Will Unite Against Clinton

A Hillary Clinton candidacy this fall could be the remedy Republicans need to heal the “wounds” resulting from their fiercely contested presidential race, according to Ben Carson.

The former GOP White House hopeful, who has endorsed Donald Trump, declared Wednesday on the Fox Business Network: “I think that the healing balm, the salve, the ointment, will be Hillary Clinton.”

The Hill pointed out that the previous day, Trump virtually clinched the Republican nomination with a resounding victory in the Indiana primary. That prompted the billionaire businessman’s remaining rivals, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, to end their presidential bids.

“There’s no question that we had a very raucous process,” Carson said. “People were very mean to each other. You would have thought that after 2012 we would have learned our lesson, but we didn’t. Now we have some bigger wounds that are just going to have to be healed.”

Regarding Clinton, the doctor added: “When people begin to think about her and what she represents and the progressive ideology and how it’s going to destroy our financial underpinnings and our position in the world and empower our enemies, I think that will be enough for people to start saying, ‘You know what? We’ve got to start thinking about our children and our grandchildren.’”
