Ben Carson Explains His Riff with the Media

At Tuesday night's debate, Ben Carson addressed his media attention by saying “I have no problem being vetted. What I do have a problem with is being lied about, then having that put out there as truth.”

He says he believes Democratic candidates should receive the same treatment, including Hillary Clinton, who he suggested lied about Benghazi. As a first-time candidate, Carson was under heavy scrutiny last week when published reports questioned the truth behind his accounts of a military scholarship offer and a violent youth.

Carson went on to say “I don’t even mind that, so long as they do it to people on the other side." In addition, Carson said that while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state during the Sept. 11, 2012 strike on a U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya that left four Americans dead, that she told her daughter and other officials that the attack was terror-related. Yet, she went on to tell the American public that it was sparked by an anti-Islamic video.

Carson added, “Where I come from, they call that a lie. That’s very different than somebody misinterpreting what I said.”
