After Brexit Vote, Palin Urges US to Break with UN

The UK’s somewhat surprising vote to leave the European Union has led to a cloud of uncertainty as the world anxiously awaits to see how things will play out. According to the MailOnline, we can count a former vice presidential candidate among those who think Brexit will play out just fine.

Sarah Palin, the former Governor of Alaska, has taken to Facebook to share her thoughts on the matter. She gave her seal of approval to the UK vote, and uploaded a photo of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, which she captioned as ‘liberty is fundamental.’

She goes on to explain that she hopes that the US will draw inspiration from the bold move to break with the European Union, and perhaps break away from the United Nations in the future. Though the UN and EU are unrelated entities, Palin nonetheless views a US break from the UN as necessary due to how the diplomatic body ‘dissolves a nation’s self-determination and sovereignty.’

The Brexit vote passed by the thinnest of margins, 51% for versus 49% against, and there have been plenty of calls for a new referendum on the whole matter.
