Rob Kardashian's 'Revenge Porn' Images Could Land Him in Legal Trouble

Rob Kardashian and his ex, Blac China, got into an ugly argument that spilled out onto social media. Kardashian took to Instagram and began ranting, which culminated in him posting explicit photos of his ex as he proceeded to body-shame her. As of right now, there is no investigation into Kardashian's actions, but there could be. Posting revenge porn is illegal in the state of California.

Chyna, a model and stripper, has had an on again/off again relationship with Rob Kardashian Jr. The couple were engaged in 2016 after just three months of dating, and then announced they were expecting a child together. The baby, Dream Renee Kardashian, was born last November, and a month later, the two called off the engagement. In February, they split, but there is obviously a lot of bad blood between the parents.

Kardashian is apparently still very bitter. The 30-year-old reality star began posting vitriol about his baby mama, accusing her of having weight loss surgery after giving birth.

"Everyone wonders how Chyna lost all that weight after the baby and she lies to everyone but no I'm such a great Husband that on our anniversary I paid [$100,000] to do this surgery to get all everything fixed as much as they could. And then guess what she did after she was all healed when I was by her side the entire time. She left me and my baby which she had out of spite to get back at her other baby daddy. I can't believe [you] would disrespect me like this," he said.

Kardashian complained that Chyna dropped him like a hot potato after he paid for her surgery. He then posted a video of Chyna allegedly having sex with another man. He also posted photos of a man he says his ex allegedly slept with, and he accused her of cheating and doing drugs.

Kardashian later deleted the explicit video, but with more than 9 million followers on Instagram, it was already widely circulated and the damage had been done.

The violation of privacy sparked outrage and Kardashian was slammed for posting the private images. In the state of California, where Kardashian now resides, there are digital harassment laws and laws against internet 'revenge porn'.

Actress Mischa Barton recently won a case in court after her ex-boyfriend, 'O.C.' actor Jon Zacharias, could not release explicit photos and sex videos he made during their relationship.

Mischa's attorney, Lisa Bloom, says Chyna probably has a case against Kardashian. "Revenge porn is illegal in CA and it certainly appears to me that Rob has violated this criminal law," she said to the New York Daily News.

Not only could Kardashian face criminal charges under California Penal Code 647(j)(4) if the state chooses to prosecute him, but Chyna could take him to civil court and sue him under California civil code 1708.85. The code deals with non-consensual distribution of sexual materials.

"These cases are worth a lot of money," lawyer Erica Johnstone told Business Insider.

Revenge porn can also be considered abuse, and Chyna could, if she wanted to, take it to family court. She could get a restraining order out on her angry ex, and he could lose custody rights to their daughter.

"If I were her lawyer, I would get a domestic-violence restraining order and work it out by settlement agreement," Johnstone said.
