Dunkin' Donuts Employees Turn In Parents After Endangering Their Children

Late last month, a Dunkin' Donuts employee noticed something strange about two parents at the drive-thru with their kids in the car. Based on reports, Dunkin Donuts employee saw Tiffany Tinkham with a needle sticking out of her arm, as the children's father, Lance Hillier, was passed out at the wheel of the car.

The Hyannis, Massachusetts employees were only able to wake Hillier up after they shouted at him. The parents ordered their items and drove away, but the employees got the license plate number and called the police.

Patrol Officer Nicole Bevilaqua soon approached the car on the highway, turning on her lights to signal for the couple to pull over. Bevilaqua put her lights on and could see the man and woman switching seats. When she pulled them over, she found Suboxone in Tinkham's bra. One of the two children in the backseat told Bevilaqua that she had seen her mother use needles several times.

The child said, “Mommy has to use needles all the time. She tells us to close our eyes or look out the window when she uses them, but I never do. Daddy has to drive all the time because Mommy is sick.”

Tinkham and Hillier were both charged with two counts of reckless endangerment of a child under 18, operating under the influence of drugs, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. In addition, Tinkham was charged with possession of a Class B drug and possession of marijuana.
