Women Go For A Jog - End Up Fighting To Stay Alive

Four neglected pit bulls who had been starved by their owner escaped and hunted the first meal they could find. Two women in Indiana were out jogging when the ravenous dogs attacked them. For a nightmarish half hour, the dogs attacked and fed off the women. The dog's abusive owner was jailed.

Isabella George, 19, and Rebekah Forgey, 20, were jogging when the dogs began to chase them in a field. The two women tried to run for safety but couldn't outrun the dogs. The dogs tackled the ladies and began tearing at their flesh in a feeding frenzy.

Forgey's leg muscles were ripped, and the dogs ripped off more than 75 percent of her scalp. George was covered in deep puncture wounds all over her body. The women tried to fight off the dogs for 30 minutes, but were no match for the dogs' strength and ferocity.

The dog's owner chased down the dogs and tried to stop the attack, but the dogs turned on him as well. He was also bitten.

A motorist passing by saw the horrific sight and drove her truck into the field. The vehicle caused the dogs to scatter, and she quickly loaded the injured parties into her vehicle and raced them to the hospital.

The girls' families say they're lucky to be alive.

"Based on the injuries that I’m aware of at this point, I’m concerned that these animals were literally feeding," Sheriff Toby Leazen told WLFI.

Richard Darter, 51, the dogs' owner, has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
